Video of Oyster Drop into Boston Harbor
Sunday, November 15, 2009 The Massachusetts Oyster Project has released this video of the recent oyster drop from the North End/Waterfront area off Commercial Street by the shoreline near the Steriti Rink/tennis courts. The video explains the program's goals to reintroduce oysters to help the ongoing renewal of Boston Harbor.
From their blog:
"Everyone pitched in and we had a very nice day. We mesured oysters, placed them into frames designed and built by Mat, while the divers hit the water. On the next dive they began placing them in the water, the afternoon culminated with area children disbursing the last 40,000 oysters from a boat into carefully marked areas. ... The day ended well. Now we wait and see how they do."
